Launch of $400 Million Truck Manufacturing Venture in China Announced by Hyundai

On Sunday, Hyundai Motors Co. announced that it has agreed to launch a truck manufacturing venture in China, worth a whopping $400 Million, in association with a local partner, as the company seeks to expand into an automobiles market which was recently designated as the worlds largest.

South Korea's largest maker of automobiles, Hyundai, confirmed that it assigned an initial agreement with Baotou Bei Ben Heavy-Duty Truck Co, China's commercial vehicles manufacturer, and a target of selling at least 100,000 vehicles across the country by 2014 has been set.

On Friday, China Merchants Holdings signed a whopping $911 Million joint venture agreement to fuse together its port facilities in the area's Qingdao Port with those of its partners in the deal including COSCO Pacific and A. P. Moller Mearsk.

As confirmed by Qingdao Port, the merger would be much beneficial to China's second largest trade port in a time when the worldwide sector is in the process of restructuring in light of the recent global financial downturn.

On Friday, Beijing Autos shared that it is looking to explore "further cooperation" with General Motors' Saab Automobile like "new energy vehicles", and the development has followed an earlier announcement that the China based manufacturer would purchase Saab's car and engine technology from the struggling automobiles maker.

As confirmed by Beijing Autos' President Wang Dazhong, Saab is also looking for his firm to import and sell Saab brand vehicles in the Chinese automobile market, which this year has been designated the world's biggest auto sector.
