$181 Million Loss Posted by BNZ
A whopping $181 Million loss has been reported by the Bank of New Zealand. The complete year loss is being seen as a possible result of the bank's recent tax case loss.
Revealing figures which disappointed investors and lenders greatly, BNZ reported a $181 Million loss, which was a result of the heavy one-off tax case provisions it has to settle, which stood at a whopping $661 Million. As a result of the loss, cash earnings fell by 13%.

Fonterra To Add Wonders To Dairy Industry Fonterra, a global supplier of dairy products, is planning to boost the production capacity of cultured products to 20,000 metric tonnes each other.
Spending almost 25 million Malaysian Ringgit ($NZ9.8m) to upgrade the plant, the general manager of Fonterra, John McKay is expecting a high in the production capacity of the cultivated products to about 20,000 tonnes from the present 8,000 tonnes.
The plant was inaugurated by New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, after he signed a free-trade agreement with Malaysia.
High Street Retail Sales Register Growth

While the land prices soaring new highs, the Southeast Asia’s biggest developer CapitaLand reported a loss of 33 per cent in company’s net profit in comparison of the last year.
The profit for the third quarter of 2009 stood at S$281.3 million, which is down by 33 per cent as compared to the last year, when the company earned S$419.4 million.
Singapore To Enter Carbon Credits Trade
With an aim to become a leader in carbon industry, Singapore is on the verge of starting the trade of carbon credits by year-end.
Confirming the development at the Carbon Forum Asia conference, a senior minister of state for trade and industry S. Iswaran said that the nation's forthcoming Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) is "on track for year-end" and will provide "an electronic trading platform for futures and options trading on a diversified range of commodities, including energy, metals, agricultural commodities, currencies, commodity indices and carbon credits".
