Qantas Airbus A330-300 struck by lightning

On Wednesday, a Qantas Airbus A330-300, registration VH-QPD performing flight QF-72 from Singapore (Singapore) to Perth, WA (Australia), was struck by a lightning amid heavy rain, about a minute after liftoff from Singapore. It was, however, decided by the crew, after examining the aircraft status, to continue to Perth, where the airplane landed safely on runway 03 about 5 hours later.

It was confirmed by the passengers that they saw an orange flash running along the left hand side of the aircraft. After landing, a notable interest in the airplane's left hand wing was shown by the ground personnel.

It was specified by Qantas that the shortly after departure from Singapore, the airplane was struck by lightning; fortunately, no safety issue arose. The maintenance is checking the airplane carefully in Perth.
