Malaysia is all set to organize a three-day property fair from January 22 onwards, in order to attract Indian investments in the country's real estate sector.
As per information shared by the Malaysia Property Incorporated (MPI), a state-initiative, there would be no impediment to purchasing and selling of freehold real estate across Malaysia.
Under the program, christened "Malaysia My Second Home", investors are also being offered the option of making the country their "second home", as was confirmed by an MPI statement issued on Wednesday.
During 2008, Indian nationals emerged as the fourth largest group of investors in residential properties across the country, with Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor being their preferred cities. Prices of properties ranged from $150,000 to $300,000.
"The most important aspect in purchasing Malaysian real estate is the land law system that allows for transparency and enforceability of ownership. Foreigners also have no impediment to buying freehold Malaysian real estate and to sell when the need arises without restriction", said Kumar Tharmalingam of MPI.
