HTC to complete rollout of Android ICS to its devices by August end

HTC to complete rollout of Android ICS to its devices by August endAccording to a recent disclosure by handset-maker HTC in a Facebook post, the rollout of the Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)’ version to its devices will probably be completed by the end of August; with the Android ICS 4.04 update to HTC One X smartphones already underway.

It was in response to an Android ICS update-related query from Facebook user Jamie Chan that HTC said in the Facebook post on Friday that it was still working on readying updates, and is hopeful that it will be able to issue the updates - for all the company’s devices which have previously been announced - later this month.

While the HTC One S, Vivid, Amaze 4G, and Sensation 4G are some of the company’s handsets which already boast the Android ICS version, the ICS update was rolled out to the company’s Rezound, EVO 3D, and EVO Design
4G handsets earlier this month.

However, the HTC handsets which are still to get the Android ICS update include the Desire S, Desire HD, Incredible S, Sensation, Sensation XE, Sensation XL, EVO 4G+, Rhyme, Velocity, and Thunderbolt.

In addition, responding to the direct questions of some other Facebook users as to when the Desire S and the Thunderbolt will get the Android ICS update, HTC revealed that both the handsets will be equipped with the ICS before the end of this month.
