In what apparently is the latest addition to the services which largely aim at perking up sales from mobile devices users who use their smartphones and tablets for socializing, social network Facebook recently introduced a new tool which gives developers a new capability to advertise their products and services.
The new ‘Mobile Ads for Apps’ tool, unveiled by Facebook on Tuesday, is essentially a mobile-ad service which allows game-makers and other software developers to advertise their wares on News Feeds on Facebook’s mobile app; thereby enticing the users to install applications on their mobile devices.
Revealing that the mobile-ad service has also been designed for assisting developers in gauging the efficacy of their ads, Facebook said in a recent blog post that the new tool underscores a mechanism for app developers “to grow their business with an ad unit that helps them reach and reengage their users.”
Facebook further added that its ‘Mobile Ads for Apps’ tool – which also includes a system for monitoring an ad’s performance – is currently in the beta stage, and is being tested with a limited number of partners.
The new service requires the users to click on an ad on Facebook’s pages, so as to be connected to an online store – either Apple’s App Store or the Google Play store - from which the app can be purchased; and also allows the developers to specifically target the ads to particular audiences, on the basis of age-group, gender and region.
