Kane Gorny’s pulse was not checked for 24 hours

Kane Gorny’s pulse was not checked for 24 hoursKane Gorny lied unattended by doctors and nurses who did not think it was important to check his pulse.

The 22-year-old felt feverish as no one bothered to give him vital medication as his body had to retain fluids and this took place at St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London.

It was 999 that was resorted to by the keen footballer and runner when he did not get water to drink from hospital staff despite his repeated requests.

Westminster Coroner's Court has heard that many of the medical staff was completely unaware that he was going through a condition that was rare and daily drugs were needed to control it.

It was heard that his pulse was not checked and his blood pressure was reported low when it was checked and he died the next morning.

His vital signs were checked by Dr Victoria Agunloye, one of the doctors on duty in the ward and it was seen that he felt warm and his pulse was high.

Dr Agunloye said, “I would assume a patient who was heavily sedated would need regular observations, at least hourly, I would be worried about neurology and maintaining their airwaves.”
