In a recent announcement, game publisher Capcom has announced that Resident Evil: Chronicles HD is scheduled for launch on the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network on June 26.
According to the Capcom announcement, Resident Evil: Chronicles HD – a high-definition collection which will comprise two critically-acclaimed Wii Resident Evil titles; namely, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles – will be priced at $26.99; and will be distributed digitally via the PlayStation Store.
With Resident Evil: Chronicles HD to be chiefly aimed at the owners of a PlayStation Move/PlayStation 3, both the titles comprising the compilation will be presented in high-definition, and - over and above their support for PS3 controls – will support the PlayStation Move motion controller. Both the titles have thus far been exclusive to the Nintendo Wii, ever since their 2007 and 2009 release respectively.
While the two titles included in Resident Evil: Chronicles HD will not be available as separate downloads at the launch of the compilation, they will launched individually on July 17; and will be cost $14.99 apiece.
Revealing that there will be support for both single-player as well as cooperative multiplayer in the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection, Capcom said in a statement: “The intense shooter gameplay from both titles is back as players attempt to survive the horror alone or with a friend in co-op mode, earning trophies as they go.”
