Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Player 4.2 come stateside on May 13

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Player 4.2 come stateside on May 13According to recent reports, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 - yet another new addition to the already-available variety of tablet sizes from Samsung - is apparently coming stateside this Sunday, May 13.

As per the official disclosure by Samsung, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 - which is a Galaxy Tab 2 tablet featuring a 10.1-inch display - will likely be priced at $400 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi version; and will be available from a number of retailers including Amazon, Office Depot, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Tiger Direct.

The forthcoming Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a well-made dual-core tablet, which will run the latest Android OS iteration - the Android version 4.0 `Ice Cream Sandwich.' Other than that, the new tablet will not be much different from the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 so far as other specifications are concerned.

The Tab 2 10.1 features a big 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixels screen which, going by Samsung's sales pitch for the device, gives a "more exciting" edge to the viewing movies and playing games on the tablet. Along with the big display, the Tab 2 10.1 also features a 1 GHz dual-core processor; and 16GB of on-board storage, with a microSD card slot expanding storage capacity up to 32 GB.

Meanwhile, besides the new tablet, another Samsung device is scheduled to hit the markets on May 13 --- the Galaxy Player 4.2, which will be priced at $200.
