Meizu announces MX Quad-core with Exynos processorWithin five months of its official introduction, Chinese superphone Meizu MX is now reportedly getting the quad-core processor which was originally rumored to come aboard the smartphone.

According to the launch details pertaining to Meizu’s quad-core version of its popular MX smartphone, the MX Quad-core will be released in June, and will, surprisingly, use Samsung’s Exynos A9 architecture for its system-on-a-chip.

With the Samsung Exynos processor on board the MX Quad-core, Meizu has revealed that the smartphone will boast a 60 percent speedier CPU performance as well as improve the GPU speed by an additional 50 percent, as compared to the earlier versions of the handset.

Meizu further disclosed that the high-end MX Quad-core smartphone will be a modified “Flyme” OS based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and will retain the 4-inch screen size, though with a higher DPI, which the company claims would be 292 DPI.

Furthermore, as per the information shared by Meizu, the 8-megapixel camera of the new MX Quad-core is paired with a F/2.2 lens; and the handset will be priced at 2999 yuan and 3999 yuan respectively for 32GB and 64GB capacities.

The MX Quad-core handsets will initially be available through Meizu’s retail partners in mainland China and Hong Kong, and the company currently has no plans for an international launch of the handset.
