Microsoft Office 15 will reportedly come built for desktop but offer Metro flamboyance

Microsoft Office 15 will reportedly come built for desktop but offer Metro flamboyance According to a recent post by Supersite for Windows author Paul Thurrott, an early preview version of Microsoft Office 15 has revealed that though the software has inherently been developed for the desktop, it will evidently be replete in the Metro flamboyance.

Thurrott, who reportedly got his hands on a copy of an early preview version of Office 15, said in a description post that the technical preview of the new version will be released like the existing version, and will hence enable the users to select the apps which they wish to install.

Thurrott further added the a full installation will unfold for the users their Metro start screen which boasts a notable cluttering of a horde of live tiles for each application; with an inbuilt flaw in the Metro UI preventing the organization of tiles into folders.

Moreover, on the basis of a screenshot which Thurrott has provided in his post, the specific ‘Microsoft Word’ Office app displays a split view; with the left side showing a list of recent documents, and the right side showing a stack of Word templates to select from. As such, a peek at the screenshot shows that the split screen is fairly akin to the one that comes up when two Metro apps are run alongside each other.

The Office 15 software also reportedly taps into the integration between Windows 8 and the Windows Live ID account of the users; thus facilitating their accessibility to online Photo Gallery, SkyDrive, and other Live services.
