National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has approved this pill and people who continue to have relapses using current treatments will now be given this pill.

People who have multiple sclerosis, also known as MS, are not able to walk properly, as it a neurological condition and it can affect vision and cause fatigue.

The condition however cannot be cured but symptoms can be managed with the treatment.

Dr Nikos Evangelou, an associate professor of neurology at the QMC, said that injections are the present treatment and this pill will be more efficient in treating that condition as they are more convenient for patients.

He said, "Most of our patients take injections at home, and they get used to having them, but taking a pill is always easier. Compared to the traditional medicines we give, this appears to be twice as effective without having any side effects."
