Ingham County Health Department officials are investigating the exact cause of death of the Michigan State University student who possibly died from bacterial infection.
Carly Christine Glynn, 19, of the Grand Rapids area, breathed his last a few hours after being rushed to Lansing-based Sparrow Hospital.
According to a statement from Michigan State University, meningococcal disease could be one of the possible causes of Glynn’s death.
The University has expressed its mourning on the death of the young student. University spokesperson Kent Cassella said, "We're mourning the loss and our heart's and prayers go out to Carly's family and friends.”
Ingham County Health Department’s spokesperson Marcus Cheatham has said that students and other people who were in close contact with Glynn would be made to under screening to detect any sign of the bacterial infection in them.
Cheatham further said that efforts were being made to prevent the infection from spreading.
