With the Booklet 3G, Nokia is taking their first steps into the unfamiliar netbook territory, but experts have been quick to say that it is a machine which is worth a try. Pre-orders for the same have now been officially opened by the company for 650 Pounds apiece, and users can place an order at Nokia's official website.
Although a confirmed UK launch date is still to be announced by the Finland based manufacturer, it is being estimated to be January 2010.
With the Booklet 3G, Nokia is looking to gain back some of its earlier huge market share, which had been snatched away by the likes of Apple and Google after bringing in their popular smartphone models, and the company had to struggle with a tough 2009.
The eagerly awaited Booklet 3G is the first netbook in the market to be bundled with 3G HSDPA connectivity, and boasts the latest Windows 7 operating system. The machine runs on an Intel Atom CPU and has a proper QWERTY keyboard, in addition to a 10.1 inch HD display.
Also integrated in the netbook are Active GPS and Nokia's Ovi services, and all this has been packed with an amazing battery life of up-to 12 hours.
It has been anticipated that some operators might offer the netbook at subsidized rates but no confirmations about the same have surfaced yet.
