Has Microsoft forged the design and code of the start-up Asian Micro-Blogging site? Some closeness between the two sites has forced Plurk to publish a post on its company blog that claimed the two being identical.
Plurk, that was launched an year ago, declared that there is parallelism between MSN Juku and Plurk especially with regards to graphics and navigation. Screenshots are also available of the likeness of the two.
On the other hand Dave Thompson, a New Zealand-based spokesman for Plurk said that Plurk was “inspired by Twitter” with some differences. The Blog site has its well established market in Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines and many other Asian countries.
“We were absolutely shocked and outraged when we first saw with our own eyes the cosmetic similarities Microsoft’s new offering had with Plurk”, the company said in its blog post.
Microsoft said through a spokesman that it was investigating the matter and will look into the allegations.
