BMW unleashes its 5-Serires; equipped with long wheelbase and multiple engine options

Recently, BMW introduced its new 5 series, which is sixth in generation and holds the charismatic and athletic looks of the model.

The sedans will reportedly have the longest wheelbase in the segment and plenty of electronic gadgets like parking assist.

A V-8 or inline six-cylinder gasoline engine is fitted under the hood of the sedan. The BMW 550i, will come equipped with BMW's "reverse-flow" V-8 engine that will have twin turbochargers and direct injection for 400 horsepower.

Apart from this, a single twin-scroll turbocharger, direct injection, would also be part of the new inline-6 of the BMW 535i, which will, for the first time, has BMW's Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology. The sedan is capable of delivering a maximum output of 300 horsepower.

The customers will avail the 535i and 550i with a choice of six-speed manual transmission, BMW's new 8-speed automatic transmission, or new "Sport Automatic" 8-speed.

Apart from this, BMW is also mulling to release the BMW 528i with a 240 horsepower inline six-cylinder engine, which will have lightweight magnesium-aluminum construction and the same throttle-less intake technology.
