Total infected with H1N1 in Singapore now 1,055 with 52 new cases

Fifty two new cases of H1N1 have been confirmed by Singapore, which has brought the total of the dreaded swine flu cases to 1,055 so far. As of now, investigations of these 52 new cases are going on.

It should be noted that 50 were local cases, while 19 were related to foreigners; out of the 69 cases investigated on Sunday. Till now, out of the total number of 1,003 cases investigated, 591 were local cases and 412 foreigners.

According to the Health Ministry, the present strain remains mild, except for high-risk individuals with underlying medical conditions where complications and even deaths may occur. The members of the public, with flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose), have been requested by the Ministry to seek medical attention straight away.

For those with mild symptoms, their usual GPs, the nearest Pandemic Preparedness Clinic or polyclinics, would be able to treat them.
