American PC manufacturing giant Dell has launched its smartphone, the Dell Mini 3i, which runs on Android platform, on China's giant network carrier, China Mobile. The new handset, which saw its global unveiling in China, is available in "red passion" and "oiled bronze", and will be available for purchase off shelves before the end of the month.
The Mini 3i is equipped with the Ophone open source and is bundled with various entertainment features, including, but not limited to, 139Mail e-mail, Fetion chat and digital maps for easy navigation. All these applications have been pre-loaded on the smartphone which also boasts a 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 640x360, built-in GPS and 3 mega pixel camera which supports video capture, auto-focus and flash. Also come with the phone are Bluetooth connectivity and a microSD card slot which enables memory expansion of up-to 32GB.
The current launch in China will support the carrier's "Mobile Market", and Dell has been quick to assert that Mini 3i's features and offering are expected to change as it launches in other countries, under different operators.
The Dell Mini 3i is now waiting for its Brazil launch, which is expected to happen by the end of the year, with the country's Claro network.
