IT giant Microsoft has rolled out the latest set of tools for users who wish to switch to a SQL based Server from MySQL, Access, Oracle and Sybase.
The software offering offers 4 free-for-download tools and also is considered to be a major part of Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) program, where the company aims to offer safe and easy migration to the company's SQL Server.
The firm through a blog post stated: "The new tool converts or migrates MySQL control statements, cursors, DML statements, stored functions, stored procedures, tables, transactions, triggers and views,"
Microsoft reports that the SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL v1.0 will be coming in handy for users of MySQL 4.1 and offers a chance to switch to almost any edition of SQL Server, such as SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Azure.
The SQL Server Migration Assistant for Sybase v4.2 supports Sybase ASE version 11.9 or higher aids users to migrate to all editions of SQL Server except SQL Azure.
