Disney to buy Playdom

DisneyDisney is aiming to buy the famed gaming company Playdom for a deal of $500millionUSD.

It was a report by Hollywood Reporter that claims of Disney to opt for a buy out in already invested entity. It is believed that soon after the acquisition of Zynga, the company behind the blockbuster sensation Farmville (among others in social networking platform aka Facebook) became a massive hit with the Allen & Co. media mogul gathering.

Disney, with its recent buy out of Tapulous has clearly hinted that it wants to make a mark in the up surging gaming arena. Playdom is supposed to  be one of the most famed games on MySpace, "Mobsters," and a few other popular games such as "Big City Life," "Social City," "Bloodlines," and "Wild Ones."

The firm states that it has over 38 million monthly active users, and its CEO was the ex-president of EA. Hoping that Disney makes a mark with this platform and thus will give a substance to fight for.
