HTC EVO 4G has now arrived in the market. Sprint is offering the handset at $199.99 (after a $100 mail-in rebate) with a new two-year service agreement.
It is an Android 2.1 smart phone with an 8 megapixel camera. Other features include 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and a 4.3-inch display. Users will be able to use Sprint's 4G WiMax network, subject to the availability of the same. It still has 3G and Wi-Fi wireless networking services in case you cannot find a 4G network.
The phone can be used for unlimited internet usage and Sprint is already offering these plans. In a 4G network users can enjoy download speeds up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds of 1 Mbps. The best part is that the handset can be used as a hotspot for up to eight additional Wi-Fi devices.
The handset runs on Android 2.1 platform which ensures that it can access a lot of Android applications which are growing every day. It has a 4.3-inch touch screen display and two cameras. One is a 1.3 megapixel webcam for video chat while the other is an 8 megapixel camera for photographs and capturing HD video.
Other features include integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 wireless networking along with an FM radio. It also supports HDMI and has an HDMI output feature. It comes with an 8 GB microSD card which can be expanded up to 32 GB. It is also loaded with Quik Video chat, which enables it to be used for high-definition video chat.
