Intel has launched its all new Moorestown System-on-chip (SoC) in the US market. This is going to be the company's first ever Smartphone that has been powered by Atom processor. The model name is LG GW990. The South Korean manufacturing company LG Electronics is also associated with this product.
However, it took a longtime for Intel to come up with such a new model of tablet. As per reports its testing took a huge lot of time, so it could not be launched in time. Even the voice call feature took time to be installed as the calls have to operate across a range of telecom networks.
Intel's ultra mobile group Chief Platform Architect, Ticky Thakkar has informed that testing of phones is little bit difficult than that of tablets. Tablets carry data only. Hence they are easier to test.
So far as the features of the product are concerned, the tablet is designed on Moorestown platform which is a second generation Atom SoC chip. Intel classifies it as Z6xx series. But how it will behave in the market is yet to watch out for.
