Hike by 7.3% seen in Singapore's Q2 domestic wholesale trade
Singapore's Q2 domestic wholesale trade

Official data showed on Friday that in the second quarter of 2009 (compared to the first quarter), Singapore's seasonally adjusted domestic wholesale trade grew by 7.3 percent.

The increase was mainly attributable to the following sectors: petroleum and petroleum products, general wholesale trade, and chemicals and chemical products.

As per the figures released by the Singapore Department of Statistics, "Domestic sales of petroleum and petroleum products, general wholesale trade, chemicals and chemical products sectors showed development between 14.7% and 25.2%."

As compared to the year ago, in the second quarter of 2009, the domestic wholesale trade decreased by 28.1%. After adjusting for price changes, it shows an increase of
3.2 percent.
