Sundar Pichai will be new in-charge of Google's Android software business as Andy Rubin has decided to step aside, Google Founder & Chief Executive Officer Larry Page confirmed in an official blog.

Senior Vice President of Chrome & Apps Sundar Pichai has predicted that Google’s Chrome operating system may someday merge with the company’s mobile operating system called Android.

Speaking at this year’s All Things Digital’s D10 conference, Pichai said as the mobile, tablet and desktop platforms gain more popularity, Chrome and Android may merge with each other.
