HTC Corp. has reportedly cancelled plans to introduce a Windows RT-based full-sized tablet computer due to lackluster demand for the Microsoft's OS.

People familiar with the developments at the company revealed that declining sales and marketing share prompted the manufacturer to be more selective with the products.

In a recent court order in the high-profile Apple-Samsung patent-infringement case, US Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal in San Jose, California, asked Apple to hand out to Samsung the licensing terms of the agreement which Apple inked with HTC earlier this month, after having accused HTC of copying the `unique' features of the iPhone for manufacturing its handsets.

With a recent court order having granted Samsung the right to have a look at the complete and unredacted patent-licensing deal which Apple has worked out with HTC, the terms of the agreement which have thus far remained "undisclosed" will now be reviewed by the South Korean company.

With Apple and HTC having revealed last Saturday that they have settled their patent disputes by working out a licensing agreement, Samsung filed a motion in the federal court on Friday, urging US District Judge Lucy Koh to compel Apple to show its licensing deal with HTC.

According to a recent disclosure by handset-maker HTC in a Facebook post, the rollout of the Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)’ version to its devices will probably be completed by the end of August; with the Android ICS 4.04 update to HTC One X smartphones already underway.

In a Taiwan Stock Exchange filing on Sunday, HTC revealed that it has sold back nearly one-half of its majority stake in the US-based headphones company Beats Electronics --- a move which analysts believe is an indication that HTC's investment in Beats failed to meet the company's expectations.

According to a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report on Friday, Taiwan-based smartphone maker HTC has filed a patent counterclaim against Apple, in the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, this week.

The latest filing by HTC comes in response to a patent-infringement claim which US tech biggie Apple had made in March.
