With Facebook pricing its initial public stock offering at $38 a share – that is, the high end of the expected price range – on Thursday, the 8-year-old company is well on its way to raise $16 billion, for itself and its early investors, in the IPO which will give it a market valuation of a whopping $104 billion!

With Facebook hopeful that its growth prospects will apparently serve as a persuasion for investors to pay 99 times earnings for its forthcoming initial public offering (IPO), the company at 99 times profit will reportedly exceed 99 percent of companies in the Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 Index.

With the objective of contributing its bit towards reducing the number of people who die waiting for organ transplants, social networking giant Facebook revealed on Tuesday that it intends allowing its members to use their personal pages to express their desire to be organ donors.

In what marks Facebook's most aggressive move for dismissing a lawsuit brought by Paul Ceglia in 2010, the social network recently rebuffed the entrepreneur's claims of ownership of a major stake in the company.

According to an AllThingsD report, Yahoo recently took the legal route against Facebook, when it filed a lawsuit against the social network, accusing it of infringing on as many as 10 of Yahoo's web-related patents.
