On Tuesday, a Reuters report, citing two people familiar with the proceedings at Volkswagen (VW)'s Audi unit, revealed that Audi is acquiring Bologna, Italy-based luxury motorbike-maker Ducati Motor Holding SpA.

Automobile production has been encouraged in India. Indian government has redefined the meaning of completely knocked down (CKD) auto components. Higher import duties are assigned to assembled engines and gearboxes.

Earlier there is 10% import duty on CKD but now it has been raised to 30%, to encourage domestic manufacturing of the cars.

German luxury carmaker, Audi has announced the opening of its new showroom in Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan state in northern India.

The new showroom was inaugurated by Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, Dayanidhi Kasliwal, Director, Audi Jaipur and Aditya Kasliwal, Managing Director, Audi Jaipur.

It has been seen that Audi's new A1 supermini is up for sale from today and would be available at prices starting at £13,145.

The most expensive version has an 85bhp 1.2 TFSI SE, 120bhp 1.4 TFSI S line, seven-speed, twin-clutch automatic gearbox, and is available at £18,280.

Premium auto maker Audi added yet another product in its portfolio, launching the latest generation Q7 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in Singapore. Q7, measuring 200.2 inches long, 78.1 inches wide, is equipped with LED tail-lights and LED turn signals. The SUV offers 2,035 liters of space given to its foldable second row seat.
